Chinese characters are written in a shape of square and built up from strokes. In order to write Chinese symbols, you need to know the basic strokes of characters. There are eight basic strokes. They are the horizontal stroke, the vertical stroke, the left-falling stroke (or called as throw stroke), the right-falling stroke, the dot, the rising stroke, the turning stroke and the hook. Strokes are written in the certain order and directions. When you write Chinese characters, it is important to follow the rules. If you need writing worksheet for these eight basic strokes, please leave your email in the comment.
