Today is February 13th, the eve of Spring Festival, which brings a new Chinese Year.

Chinese New Year (or Spring Festival) is the most important traditional holiday in China. It is also called the Lunar New Year. The festival begins on the first day of the first lunar month in the Chinese calendar and ends on the 15th.
Chinese New Year 2010 is the year of the tiger. If you stay in China, you may pay a New Year call to your friends. It would be neccessary for you to learn some new year greetings in Chinese.

The coming Chinese New Year is the year of tiger. Tiger symbolized courage, confidence and energy. People born in tiger year are supposed to be very brave, confident and independent. If you were born in the year of tiger, the year 2010 is your 本命年(běn mìng nián). 本命年(běn mìng nián) means the recurrent year in the twelve-year cycle of Chinese Zodiac, which refers to the year you were born in.
Here is one complete set of Chinese Zodiac coloring sheets. You can print them out, ask your students to color the twleve animals and make your own Chinese Zodiac wall display. ( Check Set 2 here.)
